Mission Statement

Radically cultural radio station dedicated to connecting with Jamaicans at home and abroad to Inform, Educate, and Entertain & Inspire. We give a voice to the voiceless and guarantee excellence, with programming geared towards uplifting the morale and consciousness of our nation. Our loyal and dedicated staff is committed to serving the public with integrity and the highest of standards, as we offer to our listeners and customers a balanced high quality music, news, and talk, in a state of the art atmosphere designed to provide the Best sound possible. At Bess 100 FM expect the highest level of professionalism, and our result orientated team is willing and ready to serve.

Facilities

BESS 100 operates two broadcast and one production studio. Each is equipped with separate cabin and studio booths and high resolution broadcast equipment. BESS 100 also operates a state of the art printing service.

Board, Management and Broadcast Team St. Elizabeth business man Tony Shaw is Chairman and Managing Director of BESS 100 FM. Board members’ are Patrick Dallas, Bruce Stephens,Earl Powell and Natalia Long. While Radio Consultant Natalia Long, is responsible for station development.

Format

BESS 100 is formatted as 75% time-brokered radio with the station retaining 25% of air-time for its own signature programmes. Brokered content includes programmes related to business; sports; spirituality; social commentary; music and entertainment. BESS 100 represents the spirit of Jamaicans, and so, station held hours are dedicated to programmes Jamaicans love most - music, sports and entertainment

Jamaica's newest radio station occupies the 100 frequencies on your FM band and it represents a bold, new way of doing radio in Jamaica. BESS 100 FM is a space where creative Content Providers previously without access to the air-waves, may now present their programmes in a time-brokered concept

Coverage.

Bess 100 FM is owned and operated by St Bess Radio FM Company Limited, broadcasting from studios located at 4 East Bloomsbury Rd in Kingston. The station currently operates it own transmitter sites at: Coopers Hill (100.5 FM); Huntley (100.1FM); Flower Hill (100.1FM); Lilly field (100.3 ) Sharftion (100.5). Each transmitter site carries a 2000kilowatts of power across the country picking up a coverage area of approximately 90%. Additional sites in Portland and St Thomas are expected to come on stream in January 2008, with adequate kilowatts of power to deliver island wide coverage.
