Detectives from the St Catherine South Police Division have charged 30-year-old Janalee Nesbeth of Vineyard Crescent, Vineyard Estate, Old Harbour, St Catherine with larceny from the dwelling following an incident in the parish on Sunday, May 11.
Reports from the Old Harbour police are that the complainant gave a woman with whom he was in a relationship a key to his house.
Over a period of time, the man reportedly discovered that some money which he had in the house was missing.
While searching for the stolen money in his bedroom, he reportedly discovered that a 75-inch JCV television valued at about $150,000; a Whirlpool stove valued at about $200,000; and cash amounting to over $3,000,000 were all missing from the house.
A report was made to the police and a search of Nesbeth’s residence was conducted.
She later turned herself in to the police, and was subsequently arrested and charged with the offence after a question-and-answer session in the presence of her attorney.
Her court date is being finalised.
